Springtime Shows

It has been a quiet couple of months at the start of 2022, but things are now warming up on the exhibition front in concert with the seasonal changes in temperature.

On the subject of seasons, the Stamford Art Association is showing a group exhibit entitled 'Changing Seasons' at the Ferguson Library Gallery in Stamford this month and through to May 19, 2022. I was grateful to be awarded first place in this juried art show for my piece, 'A Wintry Day on Cummings Beach Park', so hope you get to check it out if you are in the vicinity of Stamford, CT.

Meanwhile, a couple of exits northbound off the I-95, is another group show I am delighted to be involved in at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk, CT.

'Fragments of Light, Impressions of Color' started this month with the opening reception held last week and it was a really enjoyable evening. It was great to tour the museum and listen to the stories of the history of this beautiful building from the gilded age. From its threatened demolition to renovation and revival, leading to its eventual entry on the National Register of Historic Places and establishing its status as a museum - its a great little gem of a place to visit and can see why its a popular filming location.

Here's me and my painting of Chapoquoit Beach in Cape Cod from the opening reception night earlier this month. The 'Fragment of Light, Impression of Color' exhibition continues to Aug 28th 2022 and more details can be found on the museums' website.

At the end of spring season and the early start of summer, mark you calendars since I will be putting on a new solo show at Harborview Market in Blackrock, CT for the month of June. Love this venue in the heart of Blackrock and can't wait to show here again, given its been several years since the last time I did a solo show at this great Connecticut institution.

Finally, further afield from Fairfield County and up in Massachusetts , I will have a painting feature in the upcoming 2022 Prelude to Summer Annual Gala & Auction in Hyannis Port in June as part of a fund raiser for the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. For more details and tickets to this event at the Hyannis Port Club in Cape Cod, please check out the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod website.

Hoping you can get to one of these exhibitions this month or next. Follow along on social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) for more updates and events.
